Climbing

The Lincoln District is fortunate to have one of the best climbing towers in the county. The Sudbrooke Campsite towers offer climbing opportunities for people of all abilities. The larger of the two towers features challenging climbs, with routes suitable for individuals of all skill levels. Even our youngest Cubs can have a go if they are keen enough!

If you're camping at Sudbrooke, why not book a climbing session too? We also run open climbing sessions at both Sudbrooke and Altham Terrace throughout the year, which are often the cheapest way to get your members climbing.

Mobile Climbing Tower

Bring the adventure to your campsite, event or meeting place with our Mobile Climbing Tower.

Suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities, the tower offers an exciting challenge for everyone, from first-time climbers to those looking to test themselves on more demanding routes. With multiple climbing faces, several young people can climb at the same time, keeping the activity moving and the excitement high.

The tower can be transported to locations across the District and is ideal for camps, activity days, open events and community celebrations. Whether you're looking to introduce young people to climbing or add a memorable activity to your programme, the Mobile Climbing Tower is a great way to get people climbing.

Bouldering

Bouldering is a great introduction to climbing and takes place close to the ground, without the need for ropes. It's an accessible activity that can be enjoyed by a wide range of ages and abilities.  Sudbrooke has a large bouldering wall which is open to all sections.

The MAT are not needed to help with this but Sudbrooke does require that leaders supervising this activity take a short training session to ensure the safety of the youngsters which we can hep with.

We also have a Mobile Bouldering Wall, which can be taken to camps, events, open days and community activities. It's a great way to give young people the opportunity to have a go at climbing in a fun and accessible format.

Camping

Did you know we can take your Scouts and Explorers on camp?  We run at least two camps each year. These weekends are for Scouts and Explorers and Leaders to have a chance to walk in some of the finest countryside that England has to offer.

We run these weekends entirely, organising the transport, the catering and we provide the necessary qualified leaders. Activities are matched to the participants abilities. Perhaps best of all the young people do not need one of their groups leader's with them, perhaps even better we will even take leaders without youngsters. So if you want to get out on the hills, hone your Nav skills or just have a weekend away in the countryside then these are the weekends for you.

If you are going camping and intend hiking in areas that need a hillwalking permit we may be able to help there too.
