We’re looking for a positive, people-focused volunteer to lead our efforts in supporting, training, and celebrating the amazing adults who make Scouting thrive across Lincoln.

Lincoln Scouts are looking for a District Volunteer Development Lead - a friendly, enthusiastic, and supportive individual who’s passionate about helping people grow and feel valued.


This is a fantastic opportunity to shape how we recruit, support, and recognise the amazing adults who make Scouting happen across Lincoln. You’ll lead a small team focused on training, development, and celebration - ensuring every volunteer has the tools, encouragement, and appreciation they deserve.


About the Role


Role Title:  District Volunteer Development Lead, Lincoln Scouts


Type: Volunteer (Flexible commitment)


Closing Date: 10 December 2025


Purpose of the Role:

To lead, inspire, and support the teams that help our volunteers to grow, learn, and feel valued, creating a positive and rewarding environment for every adult involved in Lincoln Scouts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and coordination for the following teams and their Team Leaders
  • Awards and Recognition Team, ensuring our volunteers are celebrated and thanked for their fantastic contributions
  • Learning Team, supporting volunteers through their learning journey and helping them gain the knowledge and confidence to succeed in their roles
  • Work closely with the District Lead Volunteer and Leadership Team to ensure volunteers feel supported and motivated
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, learning, and recognition across the district
  • Identify opportunities to improve volunteer support processes and experiences
  • Help encourage new volunteers to join and current ones to develop their skills
  • Support the delivery of local training events, award nominations, and celebration activities


Skills and Experience:

  • A positive and encouraging attitude with a genuine interest in people's development
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Experience in coaching, training, HR, or volunteer management is helpful but not essential
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider leadership team


Time Commitment:

This is a flexible volunteer role designed to fit around your availability. Some involvement in meetings, events, and volunteer celebrations may be required, in person or online.

You do not need to be a current member of Scouts to get involved. If you are someone who enjoys supporting others, recognising achievements, and helping people reach their full potential, this could be the perfect volunteer role for you.
