Group Lead Volunteer Required for 15th Lincoln Hykeham All Saints

15th Lincoln Hykeham All Saints are looking for a Group Lead Volunteer - a supportive, proactive, and community-minded individual who can help lead and inspire the team of volunteers delivering fantastic opportunities for young people in the Hykeham area.

This is an exciting chance to make a real difference to local Scouting - supporting leaders, engaging families, and helping the group to thrive. You’ll be at the heart of ensuring young people gain skills for life through fun, friendship, and adventure.

About the Role

Role Title:  Group Lead Volunteer – 15th Hykeham All Saints Scout Group

Type: Volunteer (Flexible commitment)

Purpose of the Role:

To provide leadership and direction for the volunteer team at 15th Hykeham All Saints, ensuring the group runs smoothly, safely, and in line with the values of Scouting. You’ll help build a welcoming environment for both young people and adults, where everyone can learn, grow, and have fun.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and guide section leaders (Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts) to deliver a balanced, fun, and inclusive programme.
  • Recruit, encourage, and develop new volunteers to strengthen the team.
  • Promote good communication within the group and between the group and the District team.
  • Ensure safe and effective management of activities and events.
  • Represent the group at local meetings and help share ideas and best practice.
  • Work with the group’s trustees to support governance, finance, and facilities as needed.

Skills and Experience:

  • Friendly, supportive, and able to motivate others.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • Able to build relationships with volunteers, parents, and the wider community.
  • Experience in leadership, coordination, or volunteering is useful but not essential – full support and training will be provided.

Time Commitment:

This is a flexible volunteer role designed to fit around your other commitments. Some meetings and events will require attendance, but much can be managed around your own availability.

Who Can Apply:

You don’t need to be an existing Scout volunteer – just someone who believes in helping young people gain confidence, resilience, and skills for life.

What You’ll Get in Return:

The opportunity to make a lasting difference to your local community, develop your own leadership and people skills, and join a friendly, supportive team. All training and ongoing guidance will be provided.
