Group Lead Volunteer Required for 13th Lincoln Birchwood

13th Birchwood are looking for a Group Lead Volunteer - a motivated and approachable individual who can help coordinate, support, and inspire the volunteer team that makes Scouting possible for young people in Birchwood.

About the Role
Role Title: Group Lead Volunteer – 13th Lincoln Birchwood Scout Group
Type: Volunteer (Flexible commitment)
Purpose of the Role:
To lead and support the adult volunteer team at 13th Birchwood Scout Group, ensuring the group runs effectively and continues to offer exciting, youth-shaped Scouting experiences. You’ll help create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space where both volunteers and young people can grow in confidence and capability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and guide section leaders (Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts) to deliver a balanced, fun, and inclusive programme.
- Recruit, encourage, and develop new volunteers to strengthen the team.
- Promote good communication within the group and between the group and the District team.
- Ensure safe and effective management of activities and events.
- Represent the group at local meetings and help share ideas and best practice.
- Work with the group’s trustees to support governance, finance, and facilities as needed.
Skills and Experience:
- Friendly, supportive, and able to motivate others.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Able to build relationships with volunteers, parents, and the wider community.
- Experience in leadership, coordination, or volunteering is useful but not essential – full support and training will be provided.
Time Commitment:
This is a flexible volunteer role designed to fit around your other commitments. Some meetings and events will require attendance, but much can be managed around your own availability.
