31st Lincoln Cubs Get Stuck In at Green Synergy Community Garden

March 24, 2026

A hands-on day of teamwork, nature, and community spirit as Cubs help bring a local green space to life

This past weekend, Cubs from 31st Lincoln Monks Abbey swapped their usual meeting place for the great outdoors, heading over to the fantastic community garden run by local gardening and horticulture charity Green Synergy, for a big seasonal tidy-up.

The session was all about giving back to the local community while enjoying some hands-on time in nature. The Cubs rolled up their sleeves and got to work clearing weeds, tidying planting areas, and helping to get the garden looking its best for the months ahead.

After all that hard work, they were rewarded with the chance to get planting themselves, sowing seeds that will grow and flourish in the space they’d just helped care for. With Green Synergy’s plant sale coming up later this year, there’s even a chance that some of the plants they’ve sown could go on to be part of it.

It was a brilliant opportunity for the young people to learn more about the environment, teamwork, and the importance of looking after green spaces in our community. Just as importantly, it gave them the chance to slow down, enjoy being outdoors, and really soak up everything this peaceful setting has to offer.

A huge thank you goes to Ali and the team at Green Synergy for welcoming the group and for all the incredible work they do across Lincoln to promote wellbeing, sustainability, and community connection through nature.
